Clinical Operations Inpatient and Outpatient Facilities

The mission of the Clinical Research Unit (CRU) of the clinical services is to provide the highest quality staff and facilities to serve the needs of investigators and research participants by adhering to GCP standards, ensuring participant safety, and by the timely initiation, execution, management and completion of clinical research protocols.

The Clinical Research Unit (CRU) is a network of resources, facilities and professionally staffed inpatient and outpatient unit for adults and children as well as additional resources and services for conducting CCTS approved studies.

Clinical Operation Facilities

CCTS Inpatient Research Unit

The Inpatient Unit is located in UK Chandler Hospital, Pavilion H, Wing 5 North.

The full functioning Inpatient Unit offers the following:

  • Fully staffed hospital nursing unit, (open 24/7)
  • Seven inpatient rooms with the capacity to hold up to 13 patients (additional staff required)
  • A lab processing and shipping area with short-term –80° or –20° storage availability
  • A metabolic kitchen
  • Exam Room

CCTS Outpatient Research Unit    The Outpatient Unit is located in UK Chandler Hospital, Pavilion H, 3rd floor, C300

The Outpatient Unit offers the following resources:

  • A reception area, six exam rooms and one large procedure room;
  • Infusion capability
  • A lab processing and shipping area with short-term freezer storage and dry ice
  • Designated monitoring areas with wireless connections
  • Flat screen TVs with wireless headphones in four rooms
  • Refrigerators for medication and food storage
  • Ice Machine
