Inclusive Research, Inclusive Health
We facilitate inclusive, collaborative research among lay communities, community practitioners, and academic researchers to address complex health issues experienced by populations that experience disparities or have been historically excluded from research.
The Special Populations Research Ore supports efforts to develop and conduct research focused on the involvement of underserved and diverse populations by:
-
Accelerating innovative and collaborative clinical and translational research in diverse populations, across the lifespan, and in varied geographical settings
-
Providing expertise on recruitment strategies for special populations including Latine, BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, and Appalachian communities
-
Offering population engagement research and regulatory expertise specific to special populations
-
Consulting with investigators who are interested in diversifying their populations for community or clinically engaged research
-
Supporting diverse and inclusive research throughout the University of Kentucky by providing specialized strategies specific to various special populations
