Thomas (Tom) H. Kelly, PhD, directs the CCTS Workforce Development Core and associated faculty career development activities including the KL2 Career Development Program; Clinical and Translational Science graduate certificate; MS and PhD programs in Clinical and Translational Science (and an associated pilot research program); funding of time and research support for faculty interested in expanding research and career development training; and workshops, conferences, and training programs in clinical and translational science including team science, leadership, mentoring, grant development and responsible conduct of research.

He is an experimental psychologist with specialized training as a behavioral pharmacologist, examining drug-behavior interactions and assessing bio-behavioral factors associated with individual differences in drug abuse vulnerability through clinical pharmacological and neuroimaging methodologies to examine neurobiologically-based personality dimensions. 

He serves as the Robert Straus Professor and Chair of the Department of Behavioral Science in the UK College of Medicine.  He is committed to supporting career development and brings experience in supporting a broad range of career development and behavioral science methodologies.

His office supports resources to develop and evaluate educational and training materials. He is an ideal contact for questions and feedback about expanding our capacity to enhance the career development of investigators and their teams.
