Bill Stoops named KPA's Researcher of the Year

Lexington, Ky. (Nov. 5, 2024) — William Stoops, PhD, was named the 2024 Researcher of the Year by the Kentucky Psychological Association (KPA) in recognition of his service to psychology and outstanding academic record. 

Dr. Stoops is the William R. Willard Professor of Behavioral Science, with joint appointments in the departments of psychiatry (College of Medicine) and psychology (College of Arts and Sciences). He is also a faculty member of UK’s Center on Drug and Alcohol Research, director of regulatory knowledge and support for the Center for Clinical and Translational Science, and associate director for clinical research of the UK Substance Use Priority Research Area and director of the UK Clinical Research Support Office. 

Dr. Stoops is an alumnus of the UK College of Arts and Sciences and has served on the UK College of Medicine faculty for 17 years. Congratulations on this recognition, Dr. Stoops!
